GOD'S GIFT OF PEACE

Image
Sunday 23 December 2012 Sermon by Ps Isaac Augustus Agyare Isaiah 9:2-7 "The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.  Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.   For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.  For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon hi...

THE NATURE OF JESUS, HIS DISCIPLES, ANTICHRIST AND FALSE PROPHETS

Pastor Seth A. Ofei Badu The Message of the Letters of John, Peter, James and Jude in 800 words. John the Apostle was the Disciple “whom Jesus loved”, and was in the inner Circle of Jesus (with James and Peter). He was the son of Zebedee the fisherman and Simone. He was probably the younger brother of James, who was commissioned along with him, Peter and Andrew (all fishermen) at the same time. John  (3 letters with a total of 7 chapters) presents a first-hand account of the Jesus, His nature, His message, the change He makes in the nature and mission of those who come to know Him and the character of those only pretend to know Him. The nature of Jesus is God in the flesh, perfect in holiness. His message is that His life and death is the expression of God’s love to sinful mankind. This love places others ahead of self. His message is that those who know Him exhibit His love, which show them as holy and make others follow them to salvation in Christ. ...

BE A SON OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Image
Sunday 18 November 2012 Sermon by Ps. Seth Asare Ofei Badu John 6: 9; Acts 4:32-37, 2 Corinthians 8:1-7 The ministry of encouragement has always underpinned and kept the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on course. Here are two remarkable connoisseurs of this grace: A.       Barnabas was so named by no less a team than the Apostles of Jesus Christ for his ministry of encouragement, which seems to come by the way of 1.        Giving his substance: his outstanding development in the grace of giving 2.        Giving up his rights: being on record as the only disciple to have been confirmed by the Holy Spirit as the companion of Paul, he apparently gave up the privilege at being at the side of Paul to shore up John Mark who had fallen out with Paul, because he had turned back in an earlier journey. B.       The Church at Macedonia, which gave beyond their ability; i...

DISCIPLING THE YOUTH FOR EFFECTIVE & FRUITFUL MINISTRY

Image
Sunday 11th November, 2012 Sermon by : Eld. EMMANUEL NYARKO Main Text:  Isaiah 5:1-7 "Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:  And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.  And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.  What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?  And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:  And I will lay it wast...

GOD'S SECRET WEAPON

Image
Speaker: REV. DR. ISAAC AUGUSTUS AGYARE Never look down upon yourself. You are an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ. We have been made partakers of the divine covenant that we have. Exodus 12:1-12 " And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,  This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.  Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:   And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:   And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the...

THE PRINCIPLE OF SOWING AND REAPING

Image
Sunday 28th October, 2012 SPEAKER:  Elder George Adu Danquah TOPIC:   THE PRINCIPLE OF SOWING AND REAPING MAIN TEXT: (Proverbs 11:25, Matthew 7:12) “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” When  man  becomes  old, he  retires  from  his  work  because  there  is  no  strength  to  continue  again. Old  age  will definitely  meet  everyone  in  this  life. As  you  wait for  this  event  to  take  place,  what  preparation  have  you  made towards  your  future  when  you  become  old? Some  people  believe  that  holding  onto  what...

THE FAMILY LIFE OF THE DISCIPLE: Christian Parenting 1

The primary responsibility of a Christian couple to their children is parenting. When we become disciples of Jesus Christ we are enjoined to use biblical methods of parenting. We are to raise our children according tto God's word, and not by family or tribal tradition and practices. God's Purpose for Our Children: God's order to our first parent, Adam and Eve was                                                                       "Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the Earth" Genesis 1:28 Bearing offspring is in God's will for the couple. God seeks godly children to carry his word to the next generation (Joel 1:3, Mal 2:15) Children are the first disciples of a Christian couple Children are a gift and reward from God not a nuisance or distraction, not liabilities but assets (Psalm 127:3-4) They are ...

JONAH THE DISCIPLE

Image
Rev. Dr. Isaac Augustus Agyare "...the word of the Lord came to Jonah.... 'Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.'  But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord." Jonah 1:1-3  "Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it." In other words, the word of the Lord comes to the prophet and tells the prophet to go and do something. What's unusual about this is that Jonah is called by God to go and speak to someone who isn't from Israel. This is unusual. Usually prophets, even if they are talking about other countries, they are talking to Israel about these other countries. But here, Jonah is being sent to someone else entirely. It's unusual because of that. It's also unusual for another reason and that's because Jonah is sent to preach to Israel's enemies and Jonah decides the heck with it. I am not going to do that. It shows that even...

WHO ARE YOU AROUND JESUS?

Image
For Discussion and Prayer (John 12: 1-11) "Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always. Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they cam...

DO NOT DESTROY THE ORDER: Securing the Promises of Marriage

Image
DO NOT DESTROY THE ORDER: Securing the Promises of Marriage DO NOT DESTROY THE ORDER: Securing the Promises of Marriage First Preached At Mt. Zion, Kwashieman District on Sat, Sep 22, 2012 God instituted marriage and blessed those who partake in it. Order is at the core of marriage, yet the order does not seem always attractive. Yet if the order is tampered with, out go the blessings ordained for it. This outline draws attention to the non-negotiable basics about marriage and highlights the misconceptions that make people often want to temper with the order. The entire outline is laced with hints of the blessings that come with observing the order. To effectively deal with a partner, who seems to be tampering with the order, just check how well you have been playing your own role. Main Readings: Psalm 11:3, and Ephesians 5:21 – 33 1.       Marriage was instituted by God 2.       Marriage is a Bu...

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

Image
Sermon by: Pastor Jonathan Amofa Addae (Rtd.) Main Text: John 3:15-17 “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Since you believed in Christ, you have now become the righteousness of God. As such you are co-heirs with Christ in His eternal kingdom. The Lord has deposited into Christ all things – all things are His. We as His children therefore possess all things –wealth, position, fame etc. Jeremiah 39:11-14 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and fi...

THE DISCIPLE'S MARRIAGE (LEAVING & CLEAVING)

Image
Main Text: Genesis 2:18-25 " And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.   And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and s...
