GOD'S GIFT OF PEACE

Isaiah 9:2-7

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 
 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. 
For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. 
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."


Colosians 3:12-15
"Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:"

Peace from the heavens came unto people on earth. God is the only one who can give the gift of peace.
God demonstrated his love for mankind by giving his only begotten son as an atonement for the sins of men.

Features of God's Gift of Peace

  1. The simplicity of God's Peace: Paul was in chains but he spoke of God's peace to the Colossians. Eve in our darkest times or difficult times, we have to bear in mind that God has given us his peace, so that should comfort us. The government of the King of Peace has no end. And that kind of peace dwells in the heart of believers. The happenings in this world cannot destroy the peace that dwells in the heart of believers. What makes the peace of God simple is that, you need not struggle or strive for it, all you need to do is to allow the Prince of Peace (Jesus Christ) into your heart.
  2. God's peace is sufficient: If one allows the peace of God in his/her heart, he/she receives abundant blessing. When the peace of God is in a believers heart, nothing else is needed - it floods the heart and makes everything perfect. God's peace and power is a government that if one has, he/she is okay and needs nothing else. It is enough for everyone who has it. Every believer is God's ambassador of peace and everywhere he/she goes, there must be peace.
  3. God's peace is supreme: God's peace is greater than the wisdom, knowledge and intelligence of man. It is above all things. The peace of God does not allow arguments or conclicts of any kind. If the peace of God dwells in you, you have power over even other thing in this world, hence, you should hold nothing against anyone or argue over anything. Every storm should calm where a bliever who has the peace of God dwelling in him/her goes or presents him/herself.
