BE THE LIGHT THAT DISPELS DARKNESS!

Image
Eld  Emmanuel Nyarko [Kaneshie District Youth Leader] SUNDAY 29TH JULY 2012 SERMON BY ELDER EMMANUEL NYARKO  MAIN TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:8-14 " For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.   Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light." The Ephesian church was one of the churches that seven  letters (recorded in Revelations) was addressed to. The city of Ephesus was a port-city with a very good economy - they were...

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP : SELF DENIAL

Image
SUNDAY 22 JULY2012  Main Text: MATTHEW  16:24-26 Class/Group 3 [Inspiration, Joy, Kingdom, Love] "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"    Discipleship is a serious business and often a lonely experience. The early disciples have to deny themselves before they could faithfully do the pleasure of their master. Denying oneself implies that the disciple: Class/Group 3 [Inspiration, Joy, Kingdom, Love] Must love Jesus more than self. Must not seek his own happiness at the expense of the will of God. Must be willing to give up his desires for the sake of Christ. Must not chase after the worldly comfort, dignity, an...

BOAST NOT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!

Sunday 15 July 2012 Sermon By Elder ABRAHAM LAM CUDJOE Main Text: JEREMIAH 9:22-24 "Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.  Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD." What do you posses that you think is a personal quality that you can rest upon / rely upon. Is it your intelligence, strength, financial capacity or personal integrity? Let us not boast of the worldly possessions or knowledge we have acquired . Galatians 6:14,15 "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jes...

TELL THE RIGHTEOUS: IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU!

Sunday 8th July, 2012 Sermon by Ps. WISEBORN AGYARE-ACQUAH Isaiah 3:1-11 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water, The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.  And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable. When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand: In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clot...

SHINE ON!

Image
Sermon By Ps. Seth Asare OfeiBadu Main Passages: Numbers 13: 17-20; 26-29; 14:1-4, 10, Philippians 2:12-15 God’s Plan of Salvation is to win the hearts of the fallen through the shining testimonies of those who have tasted His salvation. He begins with one or a few and makes them the shining light that will draw others to Him. It is the best way to set people free from the deceptive nature of the wickedness and condemnation of sin. Jehovah set the Israelites free from slavery in Egypt, paying for them (albeit symbolically with the firstborns of Egypt and the Passover lamb), and was in their midst Himself as the Pillar for Cloud and Fire. He groomed them with many interventions in the desert, but when their time came to shine , they failed to shine! We must take a lesson from their failure and shine in our time. BORN TO SHINE! Born again, we are in the image of God and we are expected , required and enabled (empowered) to walk as children of God, with the under...
