DO NOT DESTROY THE ORDER: Securing the Promises of Marriage DO NOT DESTROY THE ORDER: Securing the Promises of Marriage First Preached At Mt. Zion, Kwashieman District on Sat, Sep 22, 2012 God instituted marriage and blessed those who partake in it. Order is at the core of marriage, yet the order does not seem always attractive. Yet if the order is tampered with, out go the blessings ordained for it. This outline draws attention to the non-negotiable basics about marriage and highlights the misconceptions that make people often want to temper with the order. The entire outline is laced with hints of the blessings that come with observing the order. To effectively deal with a partner, who seems to be tampering with the order, just check how well you have been playing your own role. Main Readings: Psalm 11:3, and Ephesians 5:21 – 33 1.       Marriage was instituted by God 2.       Marriage is a Bu...

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

Image
Sermon by: Pastor Jonathan Amofa Addae (Rtd.) Main Text: John 3:15-17 “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Since you believed in Christ, you have now become the righteousness of God. As such you are co-heirs with Christ in His eternal kingdom. The Lord has deposited into Christ all things – all things are His. We as His children therefore possess all things –wealth, position, fame etc. Jeremiah 39:11-14 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and fi...

THE DISCIPLE'S MARRIAGE (LEAVING & CLEAVING)

Image
Main Text: Genesis 2:18-25 " And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.   And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and s...

DISCIPLING CHILDREN TO DISCIPLE OTHERS

Sunday 9 th September, 2012 Sermon by BENNETT AYISI Main Text: 2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” The mandate to disciple others for Christ has been given to each one of us. Irrespective of our age, we have been authorized to go and disciple others. The Role of the Church: ·          To what extent do we involve children in our church activities, budget etc. ·          How do church leaders relate to the children? ·          What training programs, seminars & workshops are there for children’s caretakers? ·          What provision has been made for teaching facilities for the children? The Role of the Parent: ·          The family ...

IMAGE MATTER (IN WHOSE IMAGE ARE YOU GROWING?)

Image
Sunday 2nd SEPTEMBER 2012 Sermon by Pastor SETH ASARE OFEIBADU Reading Genesis 1:26-27 and Romans 1: 23 together, we realize that the whole problem of man is an image problem . In the Garden of Eden man was deceived and confused about his level in creation, as the only creature in the image of God. He rather aspired to the forbidden level of being all in all (equal with God), and therefore came under God’s condemnation, and lost the right to God’s fellowship. Fallen man was corrupted and the image before him, what he aspired to be, came to include even animals that he was supposed to have rule over and be above. Man went downhill because the image before him was actually lower than his potential. God spoke through the prophets to present the right image for man to rise up to: A life of righteousness that is made up of rising above all creation (in discipline and holiness) and submitting to God . But when man’s ability to do this is gauged by the law God gave, he fails to...
