TEXT: Isaiah 43:19,
Genesis 13:15 and Jeremiah 1:11-12
INTRODUCTION
God
told the Prophet Isaiah to tell His people to forget the past (with its pain,
mistakes and old ways) and see (behold), the new things He is about to do for
them. Unless they see the new things in the spirit, there was no way it was
going to manifest in the physical realm. Having a picture of the future is very
important to possessing the future. When we are to align our vision to God’s
own and see as He sees then only can we confidently rest in Him to carry us
there.
WHO DO YOU SEE?
The
Disciples of Christ asked Him to show them the Father and Jesus told them that
He is in the Father and the Father is in Him and He is us (John 14:20). We have
to see our God in all situations. He is bigger than our past, our mistakes, our
enemies, our fears and all things. He loves us than anybody could ever love us and
He has our interest at heart. He always does us good. That is why He gave us
His only begotten Son Jesus. Let Christ be the object of your focus. Let Him be
the reason why you are here. His love for you is the reason he does what He
does for you.
Isaiah
43:1-17 declares:
But now thus says the LORD who created
you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have
redeemed you. I have called you by
your name. You are Mine. “When
you pass through the waters, I will be
with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you
walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor the flames set you ablaze. “For
I am the LORD your God, the
Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. “Since you
were precious in My sight, you have been honoured. So I have loved you.
Therefore, I will give men for you and people for your life. “Do not fear, for
I am with you. I will bring
your seed from the east and gather you from the west. “I will say to the north, ‘Give
them up,’ and to the south, ‘Do not keep back.’ Bring My sons from afar and My
daughters from the ends of the earth. “Bring
everyone who is called by My name. For I have created him for My glory.
I have formed him. Yes, I have made him.” Bring forth the blind people who have
eyes and the deaf who have ears. Let all the nations be gathered together, and
let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this and show us the
former things? Let them bring forth their witnesses so that they may be proved
right. Or, let them hear and say, “It
is true.” “You pare my
witnesses,” says the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may
know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor will there be
after Me. “I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no saviour. “I have declared and I have saved. And I
have proclaimed
when there was no foreign god
among you. Therefore, you are My
witnesses,” says the LORD, “that
I am God. “Yes, before the day was, I am He.
And there is no one who can
deliver out of My hand. I will work, and who will reverse it?” Thus says the
LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “For your sake I have sent to
Babylon and have brought down all their nobles and the Chaldeans
who rejoice in their ships. “I am the LORD, your Holy One, the
creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the LORD who makes a way in the sea and
a path in the mighty waters, who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and
the power. (They will lie down together. They will not rise. They are extinct.
They are quenched as a wick.)
The
above scripture indicates what God wants to do for us because of His great love
for us. We must seek to see and know Him. He must be our focus and desire. We
must possess Him in our spirit, soul and body.
He comes into our lives to make all things new. He said behold I make
all things new. In him we become new creatures the old is gone and the new has
come. We become like Him, full of power, wisdom, humility, gentleness and more.
WHAT
DO YOU SEE?
After seeing God, His Son and His
Spirit, you must then proceed to see new life. Your life must not be the same
after seeing Christ. There must be a change in your character. The old nature
must die for the new life in Christ to appear. The new nature of Christ must
appear in your life. The new thing God promises to do must start with you and
your character. New wine cannot be put in old wine skin. The new wine is for
new wine skin as Jesus said in the gospels. You start a new Bible reading plan,
prayer life, devotional life, church attendance and so on. You must see new
things happening in your life to posses new things.
Isaiah 43:18-19
“Do not remember the former things,
nor consider the things of old. “Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it
will spring forth. Will you not know it? I will even make a way in the
wilderness and rivers in the
desert.”
You must then proceed to see the future
you want now. God told Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:11-12) that He has seen well. We
must see great things for ourselves because of the new life in Christ. We have
become kings, priests and prophets so we must see and experience the great
things this people see and experience in their lives.
WHY DO WE SEE?
We see for the next generation. We see
great future for us and especially for them. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream
for the future generation and today it is happening. A black man is a president
in the USA. We must dream dreams and see for posterity. God also told Abraham
that all the land he sees will be for him and his seed in Genesis 13:15. All
that we are able to see by faith in the spirit will be for us and the
generation yet unborn. The Bibles says that the just shall live by faith so we
must live by faith and see and achieve great things for our God as His
witnesses.
CONCLUSION
We must see Jesus in heaven and in our lives and seek to be with him in heaven. HEAVEN
must be our goal. Those who see heaven every
day and live as heavenly citizens and wash their cloths with the blood of the
Lamb are those who will be there. See by faith, live by faith and be like
Christ at all times. He is the way that God is making in the wilderness for
salvation unto the world. John came crying in the wilderness that way should be
made for the soon coming king. Now the King has come and He is living in our
hearts and He will come again. Let’s live in readiness to meet Him. Amen.
