DON'T BE UNGRATEFUL LIKE ISRAEL

Speaker: Mrs. Gifty Ofei Badu
The Israelite descended from the lineage of Abraham . Abraham was called at a time where idol worship was the order of the day in his home town. He was also called  when he had no child. God further promised Abraham to be father of many nations, through Isaac he became the father of many nation. [And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years (Genesis 15:13)]

Let us look at where we were - when we were in darkness and had not come to acknowledge this light. The Lord miraculously walked with the Israelite - turning water into blood, dividing the Red Sea etc. [And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?(Exodus 15{emphasis 24})]

The Israelite after experiencing diverse kinds of miracles began to complain and made several utterances against Moses on his God. [And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. (Exodus 16:3)]

Trials and adversity are to produce in us good character, we are to stop complaining and know that He who has called us is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. [And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?;  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. (Exodus 17:3, 32:1)]

Do you sometimes seek another God elsewhere? We seem to be over familiar with our leaders at the helm of affairs; let us arise to the task and understand who we have come to.

Continuous complaining will result in the following:

  • The glory of the Lord will be missed
  • You will not enter into the rest of God.
