FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD
Rev. George Timinka |
Sermon By Rev. George Timinka
Main Text: Joshua 24:15
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
The Lord is more than able to deliver us from every kind of suffering we may be going through even in our families. We have been brought into this wonderful family of God for very good purposes.
As you prepare to marry, what are your choices based on? Are they exclusively based on on physical beauty, attraction and the likes? Do you tend to think that our choices are not in the house of Go?
Whatever we are engaged in, let us do so in Christ: Your business, marriage, personal relationships should all be in Christ.
Our God has precious promises for all who come to Him. But, being in Christ is no guarantee for a life without trials and temptations. The pressures and issues of the world are bound to come but let's be guided by the words of the Apostle Paul that 'all things work together for good for them that love God, those who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)
If only you decide that you and your entire household will serve the Lord, you will enjoy the following blessings:
- You will always enjoy the presence of God
- The Lord will put His strength in you.
- The favour/glory of the Lord will rest upon you in times of trouble, hardship and all circumstances that seem unfavourable.
- The divine providence of the Lord shall be your portion (Psalm 23:1 )
