MARKS OF A DISCIPLE: LOVING ONE ANOTHER

Image
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.  For we know in p...

MARKS OF A DISCIPLE: BEARING FRUIT

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." Bearing much fruit is the mark of a disciple of Jesus . God expects us to bear much ...

THE TREASURE IN YOU

Elder Emmanuel Gyimah BNWC Presiding Elder There is something good hidden in you, search for it. Jeremiah 1:9-10; Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, Now, I have put my words in your mouth. Many Christians believed that, to become a Christian is self-decision and therefore they have not been called by God, because of their ignorance of knowing who they are, all the good things that God filled in them will not be put into practice. God told Jeremiah, before I formed you in the belly I knew you, Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you a prophet to nations. Jeremiah didn’t know of this before he was told by God and everything in his life was normal and ordinary, but in the eyes of the Lord he was a special person.  We are all like Jeremiah, there is a task ahead of us to execute where ever we find ourselves. Being a Christian or a disciple of Christ is a call, and no calling is without message attached. God...

THE LEGACY OF A DISCIPLED WOMAN

Image
SUNDAY 10TH JUNE 2012 SERMON BY APOSTLE EMMANUEL ACHIM GYIMAH What Legacy are you leaving behind in this world? Consider the contributions of these faithful ones Esther Mary Martha etc. Proverbs 22:1-4 John 15:16 Matthew 28:18-20 As women, we have been made to produce all kinds of people. In the same way, the church (bride of Christ) is expected brood and fill the earth. (Genesis 12:1-3) The Lord Jesus Christ did not just call us; we have been given a mandate. Most people are leaving and departing the earth in an ordinary way. May that not be your portion. One legacy that the Lord has for us is that we will be a blessing irrespective  of our social class, academic background, family background etc.   Let the word of God dwell in us richly because in it comes the promises of our Lord that represent the legacy God has for us. If our Lord has left us such legacy, what are we (disciples of Christ) doing to leave such an inheritance That we may know Chr...

HE HAS FILLED MY MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS

SUNDAY 3RD JUNE, 2012 SERMON BY:  ELDER ASANTE GYIMAH JEREMIAH 1:9 "Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth." EPHESIANS 1:4,5 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will," Before you were created , the Lord knew you. The Lord has called us and given us certain tasks to accomplish. Like Jeremiah, we are used to giving several excuses: I am not vocal I am shy I like to be in my own corner doing my own thing. The Lord is expecting that we make ourselves available and make the move. We pray that the Lord touches us with his hand so that we have renewal of mind. The Lord is ready to use us in His vineyard. He is a loving and caring father who is read...
