There is something good hidden in you, search for it.

Jeremiah 1:9-10; Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, Now, I have put my words in your mouth.

Many Christians believed that, to become a Christian is self-decision and therefore they have not been called by God, because of their ignorance of knowing who they are, all the good things that God filled in them will not be put into practice.

1. God told Jeremiah, before I formed you in the belly I knew you,
2. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you a prophet to nations.

Jeremiah didn’t know of this before he was told by God and everything in his life was normal and ordinary, but in the eyes of the Lord he was a special person. We are all like Jeremiah, there is a task ahead of us to execute where ever we find ourselves.

Being a Christian or a disciple of Christ is a call, and no calling is without message attached.God reminded Jeremiah who he was and encouraged him to execute the task before him and also promise him he will not be left alone but He will be with him and deliver him from any trouble that may arise against him.

The same thing happened in Judges 6:12; Gideon didn’t know who he was until the Angel of God greeted him with his title, and it took him very long time before he acknowledged who he was. He was told to go in the strength he had and save Israel out of Midians' hands. 

AM I NOT SENDING YOU?

All of us have been called, John 6:65’ says no one can come to me unless the father draws him. When God draws you to His Son Jesus and you believe Him, He fills you with His Spirit and gives you power, as it is written in Acts 1:8 that you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.

Many believers are ignorant of this statement and some also think it is for others and refuse to accept who they are. Jesus says whoever believes in me, steams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:38. He has given us His Spirit to live with us and also help us to respond to His call. The Spirit will help us to overcome all our fears and give us boldness to execute the purpose of our call.

In our dispensation we don’t need to wait for an Angel of God to appear to us before we believe that we have been called, and all of us who believe in Jesus Christ and know Him as Lord and saviour have given a task to do. Jesus has already told us that  "anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name". John 14:12.

This passage is a challenge to every believer.

God told Gideon go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hands.Gideon had something hidden in him without his knowledge, he was a mighty warrior and God was with him but he didn’t know.

I would like to encourage you to take the word of God very seriously; the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

In everything that God has said in his words about us if we believe, it shall come to pass. Do not sit idle as if God doesn’t know you. Look for what he has said in your life and practice it, He is with you, He will help you to achieve the purpose of your calling.
