REMEMBER!
Ephesians 2:11-15
"Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;"
We have been purchased at a price. We ought to value this great treasure. We who were once far away have been brought near through the blood.
The fact of the mater is that we had to pay for our own debts. The atonement of sins rested with ourselves but there was no way we could do anything about it. Hence, His payment on the cross for our penalty. We ought to remember where we are coming from:
1. Our uncircumcised nature
2. People without Christ
3. Not children of God
4. People without hope
5. People without God in this world
This is exactly our position before Christ came, as Paul helps us to understand. But glory be to God that having come to knowledge of the saviour, we have now been brought near; thus our current position changed.
In Christ is our peace.
1. He has brought reconciliation God and man on the cross
2. We have been brought close to God by the blood that of Christ
3. We have also become Israelites - there is no more Jews or Gentiles
4. We are partakers of the divine covenant of Christ
5. We have access to God by the spirit
6. Through the spirit, we have direct access to God
7. We are fellow citizens of His kingdom. (1 Peter 2:9)
